The Clock
Trapped in a world of make believe
I stumble here and there
Like Alice through the looking-glass
I catch a glimpse and stare
And I sometimes see the Cheshire Cat
Grinning back at me
As he hangs upside-down by his tail
Whilst the Mad Hatter pours my tea!
And Shakespeare sometimes comforts me
My book ~ a hundred years!
So gently must a page be turned
Or twill fall to dust, I fear
And though bookworm attacks it
I pay no never mind
As the charm increases tenfold
As the worm entwines the bind
And remember Happy Venture Readers
Of Dick, Dora, Nip and Fluff?
The boy and girl and dog and cat
Of whom we couldn't get enough!
Though childhood was so long ago
I find it hard to leave
I wish I could turn back the clock
Then there'd be no need to grieve.
Tomorrow
If tomorrow I could not see
I'd capture thee in mem- ory
I'd gaze endlessly at your face
Locked tenderly in deep embrace
I'd feast my eyes on you all night
Bewitched by such delicious sights
I'd trace your features with my soft lips
And gentle strokes of fingertips
I'd hold the image in my head
Of love and splendor in our bed
I'd drink the sweetness of your scent
Surrounding me, where' ere I went
Desire unbridled and aflame
Ecstasy and lust untamed
I need no sight for this at all
The erotic dance of love enthralls
I weave a dream of two souls combined
Deliriously blissful melded in time
Yes if tomorrow I could not see
I'd capture thee in mem- ory.
Harmony
Body Mind and Spirit,
All twine into one..
To take one from the other,
The others come undone.
The Body by itself,
An easy sacrifice..
Though Mind and Spirit suffer,
Which seems too high a price.
Unified and balanced,
Inner conflict won't arise..
So Body Mind and Spirit,
Will never have to be chastised.
So treat all three with reverence,
Never letting one win out..
For to take one from the other,
Destroys the Soul, beyond all doubt.
